Responsibilities

• • Performs ocular examinations on patients of all ages, including children and the elderly.
• • Completes fundus examinations and writes impression and plans.
• • Supervises optometric externs and makes a final disposition on all their patients.
• • Experiences academic growth by attending lectures and utilizing library facilities, in addition to learning on-the-job from other members of the eye care team.
• • Gives formal classroom instruction in optometric subjects.
• • Assists all members of the eye care team by answering their questions regarding optometry.
• • Participates in optometric continuing education courses.
• • Performs or participates in occasional research projects, as approved by senior staff. Services, Residency Director, and the appropriate faculty.
• • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
