Description
The Charles B. Wang Community Health Center, an award-winning federally qualified community health center in New York City, is seeking a full-time Optometrist to join its Primary Eye Care service in Flushing, Queens, servicing underserved Asian Americans in a high quality, vibrant and compassionate environment.
Responsibilities
- • Provide quality optometric eye care, including conducting eye exams, diagnosing vision problems, prescribing eyeglasses, medical co-management of cataracts, glaucoma and other diseases affecting the eye, and medical treatment for routine eye problems
- • Work with the Internal Medicine team to ensure that patients are receiving comprehensive medical care
- • Represent the Health Center in the larger community and participate in educational workshops as needed
- • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- • Possess a Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited school of optometry
- • Licensed to practice optometry in the State of New York
- • Residency-trained candidates preferred
- • Saturday availability necessary
